Happy Inside.

Everytime the cat Ikea advert start on TV, I get transfixed. I'm a big cat women, so naturally my heart melts. I love the idea, the filming shots are so beautiful, the choice of music, the gorgeous cats, I really love it. Its a brilliant advert, even if your not a fan of cats or Ikea, you have to appreciate it's creative direction, and the skills gone into it's production. 100 cats were let out free to roam the flagship store in Wembley. Watch the video to watch how they made it.

LOST Trailer 2007 by David LaChappelle.

Big fan of Lost, photographer/videographer David LaChapelle directed it's channel 4 promo. Looking at this as it fits into the Americano theme I'm looking at for a current project. I once owned one of his books, Hotel LaChapelle, it was beautiful. Big, hardback and came in a box, It cost me fifty quid, I had it for one night, and couldn't sleep for the guilt of spending that much on a book kept me awake, I took it back the next day haha. Gutted.

Also, LaChapelle did channel 4's Desperate House Wives' promo. He gave a dark and seductive spin on both these series. It's worth doing a YouTube search on LaChapelle just to see what else, adverts/music videos, he did that you didnt realise about. Desperate Housewives' is the epitome of 'what lays beyond the white picket fence' in America's surburbia.

DIVA NAILS!

Im in my fourth week of sporting a set of acrylic nails, and I'm never going back! It

makes everything from pointing to cigerrets behind the counter, to heavy lifting

tv's when moving house, look and feel alot more glamourous. Forgive me for my floral

pajamas! This week Ive had zebra print, watch this cyber space for what crazy print comes next! ♥

Cinematic.

Wanted to create a kind of cinematic vibe, as some sort of practise/experimentation for our current group uni project, afte not having much experience in this narrative and style of photography. Using inspiration from the work of Gregory Crewdson and Philip-Loca diCorcia we created are own take on a 'film-still-esque' genre.

We wanted to set up a constructed scene, where you as the onlooker are not sure how to best interpert the scenario, you might ask yourself whats happening? Is the subject steadying herself on the wall as she awkardly takes a picture back at you, or is she dancing? is she miming? The way her expression looks directly at you in one shot, but not any of the others and the way she is only half dressed in her outfit is intended to create some kind of curiosity and a sense of spontaneity.

again here, we wanted to try and achieve the same cinamatic effect, shots that look like they have been plucked from a movie on pause.

So another year rolls round in epsom, and this year it takes place in our new flat. Been here not a full week as of yet, but have already got six dinner sid round (the cat from the flat below) and have taken it upon us to adopt him/her as our part time pet in visiting. Have not braved lookin between it legs yet to decide its gender, so for now it is just Cat. Cat made itself comftable on day one, and fair play to it. So with Internet up and sailing, Cat licking its bits and a wicker throne to sit on, we have a feeling it may just be quite a good year at Willis Close. Just some photos of around the place.

Meat Couture.

I am a massive fan of Lady Gaga, and im not even sorry haha! I am in complete awe of her and like her music, I find myself watching her videos on youtube again and again, (loving the make-up mainly). So when she recently turned up to the MTV VMA Awards, dressed in a Franc Fernandez dress, shoes and matching purse all made from beef steaks I could only blog it on my aptly named Meat Counter.
